Video transmissions (streaming)

Video transmissions (streaming) enable one-way transmission of live video and audio, most often from a portable camera (camcorder) connected to a personal computer in an organisation. The computer converts the audio and video into a format suitable for streaming video, and connects to the ARNES streaming video server. Users can follow the live video transmission on a website on the ARNES streaming video server.

Video transmissions can also be recorded on the ARNES server and made available for later viewing on demand.

ARNES’ servers for video transmissions also enable uploading of video recordings, either recorded on computer or transferred to computer after recording.

Currently supported video formats are Windows Media, Apple QuickTime, MPEG-1 and MPEG2, while support for Flash video is also being prepared.
